Position: Field Tech 2

Reports to: Information Technology Supervisor

Contract Length: 240 days

 

Salary:  Based On Classified Salary Schedule 

 

Job Summary:

 

The Field Tech 2 is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.  This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values.

 

The primary duties include:

 

Provides Second level technical support to users concerning hardware, software, and networking problems.  Escalates system problems to other technical support staff as necessary.

 

Performs all functions required to install, configure, and test computer software, apps, or upgrades on district owned information technology systems. Including desktop computers, tablets, virtual desktop clients, and connections to the data networks.

 

Assists with installation and maintenance of audio/video technology; including but not limited to podiums, digital projectors, document cameras, classroom audio, video distribution equipment, digital signage displays, student tech center, and other educational technology (tablets, stylus pens, clickers, interactive whiteboards).

 

Create, change, and delete user accounts per requests.  Maintain Single-Sign-On with various applications.  Experience modifying Cognos reports for import into other applications.  Example:  Schoology, Mealtime, LanSchool, etc.

 

Prepares and coordinates sending equipment out for repair.

 

Assists with network support issues such as account creation, installation and maintenance of network printers, etc.

 

Experience with System Center Configuration Manager and Intune.

 

Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media.

 

Responds to trouble calls/tickets through the online incident ticketing system, diagnoses problems.

 

Communicates with students, staff, and other support personnel to identify and resolve problems and provides technical advice to technology users.

 

Troubleshoots, installs, and configures hardware such as memory, adapter cards, printers, etc. for district owned devices.

 

Promotes integration of technology in teaching & learning and operations by providing assistance and technical training to faculty and staff.

 

Performs other related tasks as required.

 

 

The following are minimum qualifications for this position:

 

Associate degree in computer science or related field or two years of computer support experience or a combination of education and experience commensurate with the requirements of this position.

 

Proficiency in IOS, Microsoft Windows OS and Severs, Active Directory and Microsoft Office software such as Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.

 

Familiarity with a variety of networking and personal computer software.

 

Ability to troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on computers and peripheral equipment.

 

Ability to communicate information to faculty, students, staff, and the public in a clear and concise manner.

 

The ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
